MLIA

Why is this blog called "MLIA"? No, my life's not average. And I'm not even a fan of the acronym that has obnoxiously invaded my Facebook newsfeed. I optimistically (and somewhat foolishly?) assumed that MLIA meant "My Life Is Amazing." I then proceeded to get laughed at when I openly admitted this, followed by a correction. Apparently some people assume their life is sub-par, but when good or humorous things happen, it balances out to being an "average life."

I disagree with that. Now there's a possibility I'm overanalyzing the trendy acronym, but I'd like to go ahead and state my views on this anyway... after all, this is MY blog, right? Anyone reading this is just asking for my unfiltered thoughts and feelings...

I'd never like to look at my life as below average. In fact, I prefer to think it's quite above average. For a variety of seemingly small reasons, too. Yes, the big things are flowing smoothly and I'm quite blessed. But it's the little things... having cute nephews, seeing bunnies congregate outside, finding money on the ground, getting free candy... that make me think my life is amazing. So because my intentions for this blog are to record the things that make my life amazing (hence the title), it will be these very things that I express public appreciation for via my new internet column. Enjoy.

So MLIA no longer means "My Life Is Average." It means my life is amazing. Because it truly is.

And remember, YLCBAT (your life can be amazing too).
